Miguel Silva, having lived in two of the world’s most successful soccer countries, Brazil and Portugal, founded Sunlight FC with the intention of bringing the organizational and developmental ideas he observed in those countries to his home state of Florida.

Recognizing that soccer in the United States can sometimes feel limited in terms of opportunities, Miguel’s goal for Sunlight FC is to create a soccer system that values hard work and talent. Unlike other countries that offer various divisions, leagues, and community clubs collaborating to provide players with multiple pathways to success, the U.S. soccer landscape often lacks such options. Sunlight FC seeks to change that by working closely with the local community to establish an innovative platform for player development, drawing inspiration from successful systems that have been implemented worldwide for many years.
